Welcome
to all visitors.
The Acorn League is a mixed gender and mixed ability league that
plays tenpin bowling on a Thursday evening between 7 pm and 9 pm at the Wokingham
Superbowl located at Wellington Road in Wokingham, Berkshire. The league came
about after the demise of the Oaktree Fours when the centre was known as the
King of Clubs. Many, many years have passed since then. The league operates as
a 10 team handicap trio’s league. As stated the league is of mixed gender
and mixed ability which contributes to a competitive, but also a friendly and social
league. We have no restrictions as to who can enter the league and the current
constitution
under which we operate is determined by all of the league members.
If you would
like to join us by joining a current team, or enter a team, please come along
on a Thursday evening and introduce yourself to us. Alternatively, contact the secretary, Alan
Beales via phone 0118-9663687 or email alan-beales@sky.com – many thanks. The current league, which commenced on 19th April,
2012, is running with 10 teams and is scheduled to finish on 8th November, 2012.
This league is a handicap match play league contesting 17 points each week as
outlined in the constitution.
STOP PRESS: SPURTY DINNERS eke out
their lead to 4 points with the pack hot on their heels!
